The Idea Behind “Power for Good”

A peek at some of the artwork featured in the calendar.
What do superheroes, charities, and calendars have in common?
They’re all things we love at A Place To Hang Your Cape!
AP2HYC is teaming up with the Anti-Bullying Alliance (ABA) to create a calendar to raise funds for this year’s Anti-Bullying Week.
The theme of this year's calendar is "Power For Good", the same theme as Anti-Bullying Week.
10% of all funds raised will be donated to the ABA. In addition, the calendar will be sold in fundraising events around the world to help raise even more funds and support for the ABA.
The artwork featured in this calendar will be created by some of the world’s smallest heroes – kids! Each page will feature a superheroic self-portrait with each young artist showing off their power for good as well as a reinterpretation by a professional artist.
It wouldn’t be an AP2HYC calendar if it didn’t include our trademark nerdy dates. This year, we’ll be adding in dates of important heroic acts (both real and fictional).
So if you love superheroes and hate bullying, this is the calendar for you!
Who are AP2HYC & the ABA?
A Place to Hang Your Cape is a superhero and comic book website dedicated to celebrating heroes big and small. We love mixing our love for superheroes with fundraising for charities, starting with our Spidertember event last year.
AP2HYC is teaming with the Anti-Bullying Alliance, to raise awareness for their Anti-Bullying Week event, November 14-18 2016. The ABA is “a unique coalition of organisations and individuals, who work together to stop bullying and create safer environments in which children and young people can live, grow, play and learn.”

Our Young People's Choice winner Nik and a work-in-progress from artist Imran Javed's interpretation
We believe in celebrating heroes in all sizes. Each page of the calendar will feature a new hero, complete with superpowers, created and drawn by some of the world’s youngest artists.
We held a contest for kids (age 16 or under) around the world to submit drawings of themselves as superheroes. 12 winners have been selected and their drawings will be reinterpreted by 12 professional artists, with both images appearing together in the final calendar.
We Need Your Support
While originally a simple idea, it hasn't been easy to bring this calendar to life - and that's where you come in!
While the calendar is being made for charity, we do need to cover the production costs for printing and shipping the calendar.
We want to make sure the calendar looks great on your wall and that it arrives in time for the new year. Your funds will help us achieve this goal.
We've worked hard to keep the cost of the calendar down, and spent weeks finding the best printer.
This year's calendar is £10 plus shipping. That's less than £1 per month!
In addition, 10% of all funds will be donated directly to the Anti-Bullying Alliance to support their work to stop bullying and make the world safer for children.
We’re confident that with your support we can make “Power for Good” a huge success and help children around the world.
Donate today and the calendar will be in your hands by Christmas 2016!
