S.H.I.E.L.D. TV Pilot Is A Go!

Exciting news today for Joss Whedon fans as co-writer Maurissa Tancharoen tweets photos from the set of ABC’s S.H.I.E.L.D.television pilot.
The show has begun filming in Los Angeles, with high hopes of it being picked up for a full series – at least if ABC entertainment president Paul Lee’s comments are anything to go by. ‘[Whedon is] already working on the scripts… We’ll certainly be investing in [the pilot]. It’s a big franchise for us.’ stated Lee on the network’s press tour day.
Details of the plot remain unknown although speculation is rife. The pilot has been confirmed to feature fan favourite Agent Phil Coulson with Whedon going so far as to say ‘He’s headlining the S.H.I.E.L.D.show and always was.’
Lee added to the intrigue with the statement that the show is ‘not exactly about The Avengers but is attached to it’.
So what have we learnt from Twitter? Although understandably vague, Tancharoen’s pictures have been enough to set the internet abuzz with hopes of what is to come.
One of the images shows an almost silhouetted Whedon on set ‘in between takes’ – the details of the set, however, are anyone’s guess.
Equally tantalising is a photo of a S.H.I.E.L.D. vehicle and, in a later tweet, a mysterious quote from Tancharoen: ‘We don’t get to go again, Bob’.
