Deadpool Game’s New Trailer Wants You to Torch This Mutha’

Famed anti-hero and chimichanga lover Deadpool has become one of Marvel’s more popular characters. But while the ultra-violent Merc with a Mouth’s film projects have gotten stalled in development hell, a new trailer for the upcoming Deadpool shows that his video game career is only getting started.

Released on the Playstation Blog, this gameplay trailer “directed” by Deadpool himself gives us a longer look at what we can expect from the third person shooter. And if these two minutes are any indication, Deadpool is going to be a wild ride. There’s gratuitous levels of blood and violence, irreverent shattering of the fourth wall, an appearance by Wade Wilson’s BFF Cable, and jokes about man-boobs. In short, it’s exactly the type of game Deadpool would love.

Other characters set to appear in Deadpool include Wolverine, Domino, Psylocke, and Mr. Sinister, and at least parts of the game will take place in the ruins of the former mutant nation Genosha.

First announced by Marvel at last year’s San Diego Comic-Con, Deadpool is being made by High Moon Studios, the team behind Transformers: War for Cybertron, and has a story scripted by Deadpool writer Daniel Way. It’s set to be released later this year for the PS3 and XBox 360.
