USA Today has offered us two new images from the upcoming sequel Thor:The Dark World, as well as some comments from Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige and Thor himself, Chris Hemsworth. The first image (above) features Thor and love interest Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) sharing a laugh, suggesting Jane has forgiven her drape-wearing boyfriend for not calling while back on Earth helping the Avengers.
Regardless of how happy they look in the picture, Hemsworth says that “Thor still has lot of explaining to do, and a lot of making up. Even demigods end up in the doghouse, mate. So none of us is safe.”
Still, what’s most interesting about this picture is that the couple are clearly in the godly realm of Asgard. Maybe Thor’s trying to make up by taking Jane home to meet his parents? According to Feige, that may just be the case: “So while Thor was a fish out of water on Earth in the first two films (Thor and The Avengers), this time Jane is very much a fish out of water in Asgard.”
The second image (below) shows Thor in battle, wielding his mighty hammer Mjolnir. At least he’s got one thing he can count on always returning to him…
