Top 6 Heroes We’d Like To See As Avengers

The comic side of the Internet has been flooded with activity ever since Marvel Studios announced its movie line-up for the next couple of years. Marvel fans all over have been thrilled to hear that there would be films based on comic legends such as Black Panther, Captain Marvel, and Doctor Strange. However, during all the hustle-and-bustle of these announcements, there was one update that went a little under the radar.

According to Kevin Feige, after the events of Avengers: Age of Ultron, there will be a new set of heroes making up the team. The only confirmation we have so far is that the Hulk will be in every Avengers-centric film. Other than that, we have no idea who will be fighting alongside him in the Infinity War. Since they will be appearing in their own films, we can safely assume that Black Panther, Doctor Strange, and Captain Marvel will be joining the team. In addition to them, there are countless other characters who would be fun additions to the roster. Here are six Marvel heroes we would love to see become Avengers.

6. Luke Cage/Carl Lucas – ‘Power Man’

Confirmed to be appearing in Netflix’s AKA Jessica Jones series before getting his very own Netflix series, Luke Cage would make an excellent addition to the new Avengers team. Born Carl Lucas, Cage was framed for a crime he didn’t commit, and while he was in prison, he was subjected to an experimental super-soldier serum that reacted with his body chemistry to give him super strength and virtually unbreakable skin. He changed his to name to Luke Cage and used the moniker of Power Man while working as a hero for hire. Eventually, he purchased the old Avengers Mansion from Tony Stark and used it as a base for the New Avengers. Though we already have a few powerhouses with super strength on the current film roster, it’d still help to have someone like Luke Cage who is a little rough around the edges, but also an extremely loyal friend and teammate.

Who we’d like to see take the role: Terry Crews, Dwayne ‘the Rock’ Johnson, or Michael Jai White.

5. Karolina Dean – ‘Lucy In The Sky’

With a rumored Runaways film or Netflix series on the way, there is potential to introduce a whole new team of heroes, including Karolina Dean. Karolina is part of an alien species called the Majesdanians, who have the ability to absorb solar energy. After joining the Runaways, Karolina learns how to unleash her powers and becomes Lucy in the Sky. Her powers include the ability to fly and taking in energy and unleashing it in concussive blasts, almost similar to Cyclops from the X-Men. Lucy in the Sky would be the youngest member to join the Avengers and could help bridge the gap between the Earth-bound Marvel heroes and the Guardians of the Galaxy.

Who we’d like to see take the role: Abigail Breslin or Chloë Grace Moretz.

4. Namor The Sub-Mariner

Screen Shot 2015-04-17 at 10.22.24 AM

Namor the Sub-Mariner gets a bit of a bad rep, kind of like Aquaman from the DC universe. Yeah, he’s a water-based hero, but that doesn’t mean that he lacks the potential to be a bad-ass and a valuable asset to the Avengers. He would actually fit quite cozily into the established world of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He was semi-responsible for finding Captain America while he was frozen, his cousin’s clone was indirectly responsible for the Stamford explosion that triggered the Civil War arc, and he has a heavy feud with Black Panther, which could further fuel the fires of Captain America: Civil War. How COULDN’T they include Namor in some capacity? The character is very honor-bound and a bit arrogant, almost like an aquatic version of Thor. Some underwater battle scenes would be cool to watch during the Infinity War. Afterwards, Namor could move up to dry land to meet with the rest of the Avengers as they take on the enemy forces. Although Namor is currently under contract with Universal, perhaps we can see a deal being made in the next few years?

Who we’d like to see take the role: Zachary Quinto or Tim Kang.
