6 Reasons To Get Excited for Young Justice Season 3

Young Justice is finally getting the Season 3 that all the fans of the show were waiting too many years for. For those that don’t know, Young Justice was a show on Cartoon Network, part of the DC Comics block they had on Saturday mornings. The funding for Young Justice came from Mattel, the toy company, and when sales on the actions figures and other toys failed, funding was cut and Young Justice was cancelled. An online petition got the attention of DC and Warner Brothers. The fans were heard.

Season 1’s team was Robin/Dick Grayson, Conner Kent/Superboy, Kaldur’um/Aqualad, Roy Harper/Speedy, M’gann M’orzz/Miss Martin, and Artemis Crock/Artemis.  Season 2 introduced even more characters, including the third Robin, Tim Drake (with passing mention of the second Robin, Jason Todd), Batgirl, Wonder Girl, Beast Boy, and many other young superheroes.  It was a fun show and they had good stories.  I can’t wait for Season 3 to come out on Netflix!

6. More Stories

Season 1 had to do with the Society of Light. Season 2 dealt with an alien invasion. What awesome stories will Season 3 hold?  Right now, we know very little about Season 3. Will it continue just after Season 2 ended, or will there be another time skip? Who will be the major bad guy? I have some faith that the stories will include the old characters that we love and characters that hadn’t appeared on the show yet.

5. Team Dynamics

One of my favourite things about Young Justice was friendship was the backbone of the team. Those friendships are constantly tested, over and over again. Sometimes, it fails. But when the team works together, they succeed in beating the ultimate bad guy. Young Justice reminded me of Justice League Unlimited, except for the teenage and young adult heroes. I like when minor characters get some attention.

4. Damian

Normally in anything with Batman, we usually only have two of the Robins and one Batgirl. It’s very rare that three Robins existed in the same show. Between Season 1 and 2, Jason Todd had his run as Robin, but as evident from his hologram statue, he died a hero. It would be super awesome to have Damian Wayne show up in Season 3. It would be the only show after Batman: The Brave and the Bold to have more than two Robins appear.

3. Batgirls

Naturally, Season 2 introduced Barbara Gordon as Batgirl, which I was ecstatic about especially since she was written well. She didn’t get much screen time but I hope that there will be some more Batgirl goodness. Perhaps, maybe Bette Kane, Stephanie Brown, Cassandra Cain, and a few other young Batladies will show up as superheroes. It would be awesome.

2. Under the Red Hood

Of course, I want a Young Justice “Under the Red Hood” storyline. I think everyone does. We want Jason Todd back from the dead, as Red Hood. There will be great Robin drama, especially if not only there is Tim in the picture, but also Damian, Barbara, and the others in the Batfam. It will be especially hard on Dick Grayson/Nightwing, who has a ton of stuff from Season 2 to deal with.

1. Ramifications of Season 2 Ending

Season 2 ended with the death of Wally West, sacrificing himself for the greater good. It was heartbreaking, especially since poor Artemis lost her one true love. Young Justice and the Justice League got rid of the whole alien invasion, but tensions were riled in the public. Trust was lost. There are many unresolved tensions in the team to be handled—Miss Martin and Superboy, Dick not trying to be like Batman, and the rise in the number of meta-humans.

If Season 3 is successful, we might even get a Season 4, which would be super amazing and hopefully possible. Young Justice Season 3 will be amazing. Out of the many disappointing choices made, reviving Young Justice was an excellent choice. Fans will flock when it premieres.
