1. X-Men (1992)

This theme tune is so epic it doesn’t need an exhaustive plot outline sang over the top of it. The X-Men theme tune is, by my estimation, an instrumental masterpiece. Featured in the X-Men cartoon that ran for 5 seasons from 1992-1997, this is still perhaps one of the most recognizable instrumental pieces of the decade and proves that Wasserman is capable of creating an excellent piece whether it has lyrics or no.
What do you think is the most memorable superhero theme song?
A very enjoyable read! ;o) I pretty much agree with all of your your pics. I would have loved to see ‘Wonder Woman’ on there going to bat for the girls out there. That said, maybe that could go on the list for the most ‘time specific lyrics’ in a theme tune. I mean ‘fighting for your rights, in her satin tights’?? How truly 70s.lol
Look forward to more from you.
Agreed Aniva…a good pair of underwear/tights make such a difference lol. Enjoyed your article bought a few old tunes from my youth back to memory (Teen turtles). Thunder Cats another one of my favs…
