7 Weird Marvel Superheroes Who Should Be in Movies

3. Squirrel Girl

marvel3

Perhaps one of the strangest but most beloved characters in Marvel, Squirrel Girl was created by Will Murray and Steve Ditko to create a light-hearted comical hero as opposed to the heavily dramatic comics of the 90s. In her debut comic, where she was originally a Mutant before it was retconned, Squirrel Girl ambushed Iron Man, became his self-appointed sidekick, and somehow beat Doctor Doom. It turns out, along with her iconic squirrel tail and ability to control and speak to squirrels, she can also kick the ass of any supervillain who is strong than her.  She would later join the Great Lakes Avengers, was on the side of the registration act in Civil War, and became nanny to the child of Luke Cage and Jessica Jones.

Her constant victories against supervillains and other characters became a running gag. She has beaten MODOK, Deadpool, Wolverine, Thanos, and even convinced Galactus to stop consuming Earth. Yeah, seriously. Squirrel Girl may never appear in the MCU for how weird she is, but it would be both hilarious and awesome to see either Thanos get taken out by a group of squirrels.

2. Hellcow

marvel2

Marvel Comics has its own league of vampires, including Blade, Morbius, and Dracula himself. And then, there is Hellcow. Originally named Bessie, Hellcow was sired by Dracula and became the living dead, seeking revenge against the count. Centuries later, Hellcow crosses paths with Howard the Duck during a farmer killing spree and abruptly meets her end when Howard stakes her. However, Hellcow rises again, only to be taken prisoner by the psychotic Dr. Kilgore who tries to use her vampirific milk to become immortal. He also takes Deadpool prisoner, hoping to gain the Merc With the Mouth’s healing powers. It backfires and Kilgore gets killed by Deadpool and his new bovine friend. However, Hellcow dies when exposed to sunlight, only for Deadpool to leap back to a previous comic panel to avert her death. Now, if the minds behind the inevitable Deadpool sequel want to make it even weirder, bring in Hellcow as his new sidekick!

1. Phone Ranger

marvel1

Okay, the odds of this guy appearing in a film is zilch, but I had to include Phone Ranger on this list. Initially created as a joke character, Phone Ranger became a legitimate superhero in the Marvel universe. Really named A.G. Bell (subtle), Phone Ranger worked as what else but a telephone repairman in New York, discovering alien technology within a phone receiver, left by aliens from the Microverse. Replicating this technology, he creates a suit able to connect to any telecommunication system in existence. In his first comical appearance, he rescued the staff of Marvel Comics from the Lethal Legion. He has a minor role in Civil War, refusing to sign the registration act until Captain America’s surrender, and aided other superheroes with tech support.
