Top 6 Moments From the Star Wars Episode VII Trailers

3. A look Into the Past

Darth-Vader

There have been enough shots from the trailers that reference the original trilogy that should keep old school Star Wars fans happy. There’s a glimpse at a burnt and destroyed Darth Vader helmet, to a fallen Destroyer. There’s also shots of old lightsabers being handed down, whilst characters from the original trilogy narrate.

The best blast from the past moment is the shot of Kylo Ren looking at the destroyed Darth Vader helmet. Is this a sort of passing of the torch moment? Will Kylo Ren be as menacing  and iconic as Darth Vader?

2. Hello Old Friends

 Han

Over the course of the trailers, we have been introduced to some of the best loved characters from the original trilogy. So far, we’ve seen Han Solo (Harrison Ford), Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew) and Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher), whilst Luke hasn’t yet been seen on screen, he has narrated one of the trailers. The original cast look to be mentoring our new heroes who are set to take on the new evil. We also get a peek at our favourite droids, the reliable R2-D2 (Kenny Baker) and C3PO (Anthony Daniels).

The best scene to feature the characters from the original trilogy though has to be our first glimpse at Han and Chewie from trailer 2. Hearing Harrison Ford utter the words “Chewie, we’re home” before Chewie roared back at him was one of those moments that most of us fans had been dreaming of for quite some time.

1. John Williams Theme

Millenium-Falcon

Our number one spot comes from way back from the very first teaser. It is of course hearing the original John Williams theme play out during the closing of the trailer. Hearing the classic theme from master composer John Williams sent shivers down my spine. Add to the fact that this is also the first time we see the Millennium Falcon back in action. What more could you want from a first teaser? This short clip was enough to erase the prequels from my mind and get me truly excited about the latest film in the saga.

Directed by J.J. Abrams, Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens is set to be released on the 17th December. It is one of the most anticipated films of all time, and is set to break global box-office records.
